How to set up GoHosting POP / IMAP email on your Android device

Setting up your GoHosting email on an Android smartphone or tablet allows you to conveniently manage your emails on the go. This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring your GoHosting email account using either the POP3 or IMAP protocol on an Android device.

Step 1: Gather the details you'll need

Before diving into the setup, it's helpful to have all the necessary information ready. If you haven't created your mailbox yet, do that first.

Here’s what you'll need:

• Your GoHosting email address

• Your GoHosting email password

• Your GoHosting POP/IMAP server settings

To find your GoHosting server settings:

1. Log in to your GoHosting cPanel.

2. Navigate to the "Email" section and select "Email Accounts".

3. Click "Connect Devices" next to the email address you want to use.

4. Scroll down to the "Mail Client Manual Settings" section. Here you’ll find both the incoming (IMAP/POP) and outgoing (SMTP) server details you’ll need.

Step 2: Open your Android email app

You're now ready to start configuring your email on your Android device.

For this tutorial, we'll use Gmail, as it comes pre-installed on most Android devices. However, the steps are largely the same for other email apps, such as Samsung Email or Outlook.

Begin by opening your preferred email app.

Step 3. Add your GoHosting email account on your device

In the Gmail app, tap your profile icon in the top right corner.

Select "Add another account".

On the "Set up email" screen, tap "Other".

Enter your GoHosting email address and tap "Next."

Choose either IMAP or POP3. We recommend IMAP for most users, as it keeps your email synced across all devices.

Enter your GoHosting email password and tap "Next."

On the "Incoming server settings" screen:

1. Enter your full GoHosting email address as your username.

2. Enter your email password.

3. Set the incoming server to the value shown in your cPanel under "Incoming Server:" (e.g., actcsvr19.gohosting.com.au).

4. Tap "Next."

On the "Outgoing server settings" screen:

1. Use the same username and password.

2. Set the SMTP server to the value shown in your cPanel under "Outgoing Server:" (e.g., actcsvr19.gohosting.com.au).

3. Tap "Next."

• Note: Gmail, Samsung Email, and Outlook usually auto-detect standard IMAP (port 993), POP3 (port 995), and SMTP (port 465) settings when you enter the server addresses. However, other email apps may require you to enter these port numbers manually.
